With spring arriving, we have been making the most of the better weather and having fun with our outdoor learning. Our class went on a recent trip to the RSPB Bird Reserve at Lochwinnoch and popped by for a quick visit with our friends at Stanmore House School on their outdoor adventure day. A Big thank you to them for hosting!
Developing outdoor learning was a school improvement priority and we had to look at innovative ways to do this while being decanted to Penilee Community Centre. Jodie Sahota, our Teacher, worked with the learners and her class team to submit a design to the Keep Scotland Beautiful: Pocket Garden competition.
Our design was a winner and we are now working on creating the pocket garden. The focus for this competition was sustainability and we will use upcycled furniture and pallets. Lindsey Davis, our Care Practitioner, has sketched an illustration of the pupil’s ideas – isn’t it fantastic?
